April 2022
  • ​The membership for the network was updated through a registration process that included over 20 IAPT teams working in the north of England. 
September 2020
  • ​An online network meeting was hosted by the University of Exeter, aiming to organise a South West branch of the IAPT Practice Research Network. 
November 2019
  • ​The annual network meeting was hosted by the University of York, on 29th November 2019, including presenters and participants from several parts of the country.

  • ​The Northern IAPT PRN and academic collaborators have published two new studies in Psychotherapy Research. Both studies highlight associations between socioeconomic deprivation, treatment attendance, and clinical outcomes. The publications are available here:​

October 2018
  • The annual network meeting was hosted by the University of Manchester, on 26th October 2018. IAPT service providers and academic researchers linked to the network generated new themes and collaborative project proposals for the coming year.

  • ​The Northern IAPT PRN and academic collaborators have published a new study in The Lancet Psychiatry. The study demonstrates that using routine outcome tracking and feedback technology improves psychological therapy outcomes. The publication is available here.
February 2018
  • ​The Northern IAPT PRN and academic collaborators have published a new study in Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The study reports on 2-year relapse and recurrence rates observed after low intensity psychological interventions. The publication is available here.
October 2017
  • ​The Northern IAPT PRN and a group of international collaborators from the UK, Netherlands and Germany published a new study in Behaviour Research and Therapy. The study demonstrates that using routine outcome tracking and feedback technology improves the efficiency of psychological therapy. The publication is available here.
July 2017
  • ​A paper describing the development of the Northern IAPT PRN has been published in Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research. The paper can be downloaded here.
  • The Northern IAPT PRN will be supporting a cutting-edge research project funded by the mental health charity MQ. The aim of this research is to develop a way to improve treatment outcomes by matching patients to available psychological treatments, using a personalized medicine approach. More information here.
March 2017
  • The annual network meeting was hosted by the University of Sheffield, on 21st March 2017. IAPT service providers and academic researchers linked to the network generated new themes and collaborative project proposals for the coming year.
October 2016
  • ​IAPT managers, therapists, service users and academic collaborators have co-produced a Practice Guideline for Stress Control groups delivered in IAPT services. The guideline can be downloaded here.
September 2016
  • ​The Stress Control study has been accepted for publication in Behaviour Research and Therapy, the paper can be accessed here.
June 2016

  • ​The annual PRN meeting was held on 28th May at the University of York. Representatives from 7 IAPT services and 4 Universities gathered to discuss future research priorities.
November 2014

  • The Northern IAPT PRN website was launched on 07/11/2014.
  • The initial project team meeting for the Stress Control project took place on 20/11/14. A briefing paper was produced to update collaborating services about the study; this can be downloaded from the Documents page.
September 2014

  • The first steering group meeting for the Northern IAPT PRN took place in Leeds on 15/09/14. The event was attended by representatives of 9 IAPT services and 3 Universities. The terms of reference document summarises the discussions that took place at the event.
